Had to look up Telo Islands...looks like a great place......... and hey, that's a long way! If you were going to do that... Id be choosing a board better suited for long distance paddling though! You might be able to find out if you can hire a board while there? If you are staying in a lodge - they seem to be set up for surfing of all kinds....www.worldsurfaris.com/surf-trip/telo-island-lodge?gclid=CjwKEAiAk8qkBRDOqYediILQ5BMSJAB40A5UUSpLRqdBC2GD4vS3DC6FlXhF1wsikIViWOTgW59EaRoC3y3w_wcB

Email them and they will advise but I reckon you might be stretching the boundaries!?

Last time we were there they had a heavy 9'+ McTavish which kinda did the job, but I think it cost $25 AU per session.

Hi
we just came back from the Telo's and I took my 9' 1 McTavish mal it was a mission but worth it. I wanted to take a SUP however was not confident it would make it. The small planes were ok with my mal travel cover. You could pre arrange it taken as this was offered to us also.
Cheers

Kev Telos is a pretty mechanical passive waves , you won't struggle like at home so you really don't need a whopper. What they mean by pre arrange is ring the airline and check if they carry a big boards. It's the connecting flights that are the killer as they are small planes with limited cargo area. 3m as a general rule is fine but Jetstar drop down to 1.8m on their small planes but if you ring them and tell you have a big board they will put it on another flight to link up with your connection. So leave some extra time between transfers.
