Good job Jezza. Looked like you got a few little bumps after Bradleys Head. I guess it is hard to hold the start when you have 500 paddlers on the line. Maybe they need to start the SUPs and plastics separately next year
Learned my lesson about that last year when I lined up right under the bridge at exactly 8am in the freezing cold wind & the official boat told everyone 'no rush, the start is going to be delayed 10 mins'. Bernie & I decided it was too cold to just stand there for 10 mins so we went off for a paddle behind the lineup to keep warm.
We looked back over our shoulder a few minutes later and saw the whole pack was off and away & we were several hundred metres behind and facing the wrong way!
Great fun paddle this year though. Great to see 29 blokes and 9 girls on SUPs!
