meeting at talley surf club 11.30. going by car to bilinga and paddle back.

easy conditions today.a few of us can help out- its not a race

it would be better from burleigh on but the holiday crowd and traffic just chews up to much time

How did it go.. and where's the vid..

We had 5-10 knots variable winds forcast and I woke to 35 knots of perfect north wind..

By the time PT and I got down there it had moderated (20-25 knots) a little but we still had a great run.

I got some vid.

Yep did two Downwinders today from Bilinga to North Burleigh, its the best Downwind stretch on the Gold Coast it's only 11km, but it's got the best line for Downwind paddling all you need is a SSE Wind and a South Swell. First run I was cruzing at 5:15 a k second run 4:97 a k I felt a bit rooted as I haven't done a DW for like 12 weeks so it's beer o'clock trying carb up for the next run twist top number 10 coming off.
Yes Please Mr Wizard.

Yep Angela and Karla are way fitter than me I'm a KOOK on a 12'6'' I need length 18'6'' and a rudder. If Ang and Karla did 5 minutes a k in those conditions today Talia Gangini will be worried (best female paddler in Maui at the moment). I don't train I just paddle Downwind for FUN when the waves are s##t for surfing. Hope to see Karla, Angela and you Paul especially Karla on Maui for a Pai'lolo run it's BULK FUN
Yes Please Mr Wizard

I'll put say $100 US Dollars down that I'll beat you paul.j at the next Pai'lol Channel Crossing. If I win I'll shout you Dinner at the Saigon Caf'e Vietnamese Cuisine in Wailuku Maui. It's the best feed and you will p##s yourself with laughter guaranteed
I'll be paddling a 17'4'' Bullet with rudder.

I'm far from picking this but are you talking about from 10am onwards or more when the wind turns SSE, I'm guessing for the Goldy maybe the SSE
