Hey messup, Try Oakley race jackets. Used for jet skis, kayaking, sailing etc and comes with a strap to hold em firm on your mellon. They have a special fluid that you wipe over the lenses every now and then that stops fogging and repells water. I taxed my brothers pair years ago and have been very pleased with them.

oakley's r the best coz they got the holes in lenses instead of the frame,, this lets the water run out, and vents them from steamin up, u still need to rub a solution on them to give them that h2o repelant film and after a few hrs and dunks it does wear off...the oakleys r very pricey though.

I have a pair of Oakley Water Jackets.

Not quite sure what the difference is with the Race Jackets but they are great on the water. They come with a good hard case to carry glasses and the hydrophobic solution for when you are not using them. Even though they are a little dear, its a small price to pay for eye protection on the water.

I use SeaSpecs. They sell 3 pairs for $150. They work fine and stay on my head kiteboarding even through mega-crashes. Cheap and cheerful is the go for water use. Some yacht shops sell $30 sunnies that work fine. If you lose them or scratch them you can just replace them.

The actual glasses don't make much difference to whether they get wet or not. To reduce water droplets you need to clean them really well before use. A hydrophobic solution like Rain-X helps a bit. You can get it from Autobarn.

If they get really wet and horrible you can dunk the glasses in the water and give them a shake to end up pretty clean and clear.

Don't buy expensive glasses for water use. They cost too much to lose and once they get scratched they are pretty much useless. I have some Oakley Waterjackets that cost $300 and the replacement lenses are $180. The rubber nose fittings fall off and make deep corners that are hard to clean inside. They don't stay on all that well.

Rain-X doesn't help with fogging. The best thing seems to be to wear the glasses a little loose so that air circulates around them. The Sea Specs stay on ok even without the band being tight.

I use Oakley Radars with the hydrophobic coating thing. Great glasses, the main drawback is the cost. To lessen the chance of losing them I wear a surf hat with a chin strap that goes up and covers my ears. Have had a few wipeouts in (smallish) surf and they have yet to come off.

I have had quite a few stacks on the windsurfer at 25knots + and the Oakley Water Jackets havent come off yet. I do make sure that there is a line attached to them just in case though.
The Oakleys dont have a fogging problem due to the venting on lenses and frames.

My Waterjackets used to come off a fair bit, usually after a stuffed kiteloop attempt. Maybe I've got better at kiteloops but my Sea Specs have only come off twice. They float, but that's not much use in the surf. Once they've tumbled in the whitewater you're unlikely to find them again. I've lost one pair after a face plant in the surf.

I used to use a neck leash with the Oakleys. The thought of hanging by a neck leash around your throat does not appeal. It's probably better to tie them to the zip pull tape on your wetsuit.

The Oakleys do fog up just as much as any other glasses if you take a dunking in cold water. I have some Nikon anti-fog lens cleaning cloths that deposit a nano coating that prevents fogging. It works ok but the cloths are kind of expensive and hard to get. I bought a bunch on ebay.

Besides, it's a hassle. Put on the Rain-X, let it dry, polish it off. Apply the anti-fog. You just want glasses you can clean with your t-shirt and go play.

The nosepiece on the cheaper glasses is much better. It covers the nose on the forehead area as a single piece. The Oakley one comes off. They're easily replaced at $12 each and Oakley's warranty service is quite good.
