Legion is entitled to his opinion, i think it was a bit harsh to bar him from having a laugh at the expense of those who cant/dont understand a joke.

All these issues are, at heart, prejudice. A racist prejudges people based on the colour of their skin without getting to know them or walking a mile in their shoes. A sexist prejudges someone based on their genital organs. A homophobe prejudges someone on the basis of their choice of sexual partner.

Legion is clearly prejudiced when it comes to stand up paddle. He has never tried it and he prejudges someone for doing it without getting to know them or stopping to consider whether they have the skills to be worthy of respect.

The fact that you have referred to SUP surfers as monkeys and SUP boards as barges pretty much paints you into a corner.

I have noticed that there has been an influx of new breezers lately.
Anecdotes and other quality research makes me think it's because
people can ask questions that might sound dumb or show their ignorance
without being made to feel like an idiot.
Forums are a valuable tool for learning how to behave in a lineup,where the
best place is to get a board repair, how to progress from flat water to surf etc
Education for newbies is beneficial for all water users
Slapping an insult or snide backhander down any chink in the armour does drive away potential contributors.

Well said Jason. I think some of the site sponsors might be happy to not have the negativity and sh!t stirring as well.

As a new member to all the Seabreeze forums but a long time surfer i feel it worth mentioning my thoughts on this.
I for one am a huge forum user to help pass the day and i love the info that is available on tap. I also am fully aware of many of the so called key board experts are just that, but i will say these forums seem somewhat different. I find most info well supported and advice has been easy flowing and i appreciate it.

But i will say i love all the surf forums. I read them all and have posted in most. But the hype between the different forums is quiet extraordinary. I haven't seen any of the negative stuff that gets talked about but i will say I'm rather disappointed at the level of intolerance (for my personal viewing) between the different groups. The dynamic is just strange and after a good few weeks I'm still struggling a little to find a click.

I will say since i started surfing again i see the same negative attitude out in the waves as i see on here so lets hope as grown men we call all get past it and move forward.

I agree personal attacks and internet bullying is one of my hates.

What I'm saying how-about we start afresh and give all types of surfing ago.

I own a long board, just bought another short board and soon will have my first of a few SUPS so hopefully that entitles me to a opinion. If not ignore my post..

Don't bring me into this. I tried to be funny once. Nobody got the joke.

For what it's worth I liked having Legroin around. If you're that precious you can't take some stick from an anonymous dork on a public forum there are bigger problems at play and they aren't your internet connection.

Even Husqerelli and Surf Animals have been making the odd cameo lately. I was stoked, there might be some colour again!
