I know that with some opinions expressed on this forum there may always be one that is contrary to the consensus of opinion, this should be seen as part of a healthy democratic process as it gives all, a right to express. Amid the howls of maybe a little discontent that in expressing my opinion... is having a contrary opinion a hanging offence? no I believe it is not, what I am alluding to is that a chap called Legion, he should be given another chance to come out of the sin bin, call it parole maybe but a second chance is what our society and the forum should offer, there are some good examples around in sport or just life and with some careful words of advice and acknowledgement of the consequences of going down the same route will bring, there should be such opportunity given.

look I am just throwing the idea out there, i am not on a crusade! ok I too have had exception to some things written but that's cool too, but on the other hand if we homogenize opinions then a beige kinda world will take over with the fear police in our thought processes taking over, surfing is a bohemian thing to do, it can never be mainstream despite market forces

A racist view is just an opinion. A sexist view is an opinion. A homophobic view is an opinion. What does any hate filled opinion add to the enjoyment of others? Or for that matter, what does expressing hatred do for the hater?

Laurie has to draw a line somewhere. Certainly, we would all expect reasonable standards to be adhered to. Forums can so quickly become toxic, given the anonymous nature of posting from behind the veil of a keyboard. As I've discovered in other forums, people will say extreme things, express vile and hurtful criticisms that they would never do in a face-to-face meeting. I really like the spirit of Seabreeze. I wouldn't mess with a working formula.

Woeful analogy.

People can not choose their race, sex or sexuality, yet any monkey is free to stand up and paddle a small barge through a crowded lineup if he/she so chooses.

Legion is entitled to his opinion, i think it was a bit harsh to bar him from having a laugh at the expense of those who cant/dont understand a joke.
