Can anyone tell me what isup boards are like in waves, I am going to PNG in feb and thinking of taking one. As I will have to lay it flat in my board bag of a 9.6 mal.
I have a mate who lives in Port Morseby who has had one up there for the last few months.
He bought it because it was easy for him to get it home on the plane.
The main thing that worries him which he hadn't thought of is there are a lot of crocs around and a bite will make him swim home which he is not keen on.
Check out C4. I think they have the best on the market. If they ride them down rapids they should be sweet for the surf. As for crocs, your f---ed. They are made of army grade material but not croc proof I'm sure. AAA for convenience/logistics.

I'm interested in on of these boards too for the wife (and me when travelling). Has anyone tried the 10' C4 iSUP? I'm impressed by the construction, but do they perform reasonably?
I have a C4 10' iSUP, I learned how to surf on it, and I travel with it. Used it in Australia where I bought it, would roll it up and get dropped off up the river, pump it up, paddle downstream and across the estuary, roll the board up and walk home along the beach with it in it's backpack. Then took it to Colorado where I have spent the summer working as a raft guide/stand up paddle guide for the summer. The board is bomber, and it surfs just fine. We have other brands of inflatable sup's, at the company, but C4 is by far the best of the boards. I am sitting in Denver International airport writing this, flying to LAX in an hour, and on to Sydney tonight. The C4 board is in my baggage along with a 3 piece padle. Get one!
