that means minimum of 2 days probaly around 4 days untill i hit the water, so i can actually start looking at forcasts not trying to avoid them [

Question is. What kind of paddle to look out for, Carbon or Wood, whats the benefits, what brands are people using?

thanks

Good to hear your well Jords
I reckon go the ali paddle
Nothing beats the high performance of a canoe oar
Those plastic blades are super sick
Get one before they sell out

Both have there pros & Cons

Wood - great natural flex Easier on the joints when paddle is size correctly
Wouldn't surf with it although it has great flex put to much pressure on it and it will break. A little heavier that the full carbon paddles

Carbon - Light, with great flex patterns
Sometimes to light and can cause joint pain from holding on to tight in windy conditions. Can chip blade edgers it not correctly paddling and continually hitting side of your board.

Carbon Blade Carbon Kevlar Shaft - Slightly more forgiving with same sort of flex patterns as the carbon shaft - Light Good for the surf and long distance paddling

Glad to hear you are back on the mend. If the ali paddles are already sold out why not try an inflatable paddle - they are nice and light.
