tues(sorry) morning. 5 am training session. beautiful morning little onshore breeze.
today- ocean paddle 4 mins 3/4 pace, i min half pace x 6 i think.
we paddle to the creek mouth. waves look terrible- not missing anything there.
waves bunched going from the gutter over wave zone, but punch through ok.
gee the waves are dismal, but there is about 10 to 15 having a go.
we head north a bit and then head north east.
feeling good. feet feel light and keeping my hips moving forward and i feel nice and loose.
the waves a small, but there's swell out here
last set done.
we are about, oh about 2 to 3 ks out maybe more, not sure.
5.45am and the whole palm beach shoreline is before us. its a glorious scene
made the effort worth while. wish i had a camera.
back we go all the way. the runs are hard to get. i'm tightening up a bit so i make mental effort to keep loose and lite.
getting into the alley wave zone. rager has taken a straighter line to palmy and now is paddling up outside laceys.
looks like he is going to be first in . the 12'6 he is on looks well suited to the half chop, half runners on offer.
but he gets nailed.
i'm on the wide bank and get an outside wave that takes me to the creek mouth.
i decide to paddle hard up the passage and back to winders pk. thats always the tough part in the excel race . that last paddle up the ck after surfing in through the alley.
board on the car and stretch out. i'm on a stretching thing at the moment and i see a difference
back home for a shower, put the work clobber on and drive to the work site
a great start to the day

.
pity i had to go to work
