no it,s not my feet causing it [the smell] . I mean thier good booties but ..stink.. m f g never smelt anything like it , unberfookingleavable. When you put them on, the air rushes out the top and hits you like a ton of bricks ,wammo . Quickly put the wet suit legs over the boots and start paddleing . All is good ,life is grand, birds fly by ,fish swim under, fanstastic. But then the time comes to change ,,and take the booties off...oh **** not looking foward to this, it is just horrible . Quicksilver shame on you.

There are two solutions to your problem.

1. Put a splash of vinegar in each bootie. Cheap white vinegar is fine. Top it up with water. Swoosh it around a bit. Let it sit for about 10 minutes while you do other stuff. Drain the booties and hang them out to dry as normal. You get a slight vinegar smell but nothing toxic like they were.

Bleach, disinfectant, soap powered etc. Doesn't work.

2. Get some new booties.

I had some Rip Curl 3mm and they were ready to be registered as a bio-hazard. (Hence the vinegar treatment which works a treat). Even if I dried them thoroughly they made my car uninhabitable. Eventually I threw them out. In 40 years of water stuff they were the first booties I ever owned that stunk.

I recently bought some new Rip Curl 3mm booties and they don't smell at all.

Maybe it's not the booties that stink.. Maybe it's your feet..

i think its got something to do with pissing in your wetsuit, some of it ends up in your booties and you slosh around in it for a couple of hours. pull the pipe off the back of an old urinal ( i'm a plumber) & have a sniff , its almost as bad as my bootie smell. try leaving wet booties in your car on a sunny day, your mates will never want a lift again.

Yes , Ive never noticed this before , its either the particular type of bootie,[there very new] or maybe Its because Im new to to sup,and when surfing normaly ,the old ones used to get flushed out more by waves etc. Dont know,.. anyway I will happy piss on all and sundry to try and de-stinkify the bloody things. Failing that I,ll try the vinegar. Any way roll on summer so the rubber can be shelved.
