i thought the alley was no go for towing unless the beach was closed. doesn't seem to worry one guy out there right now. he is straight in front of everybody who is paddling. it is barely 4 ft

Just on that, well sort of on that topic... is there a protocol for video cameras out on jet skis at the major surf spots?

i looked on hi tide. a few windy ones off the point. probably be better with a lower tide. me i'm tired and sore, so no paddling today. yesterday arvo was strange. one minute there was more waves coming through then you could poke a stick at, when next to nothing for 15 mins or so. just about be ready to come in and next thing its bigger and cooking again

The rules for jet skis at the alley are only proposed and haven't been carried through as yet.

fair enough, thanks for that. just would like to the rules when the next ski is buzzing around real close to us at the lane. it only takes a few d#### on the skis to ruin it for those that do the right thing
cheers

No problem with tow ins when its 6/8 foot but really 4 foot is a hero thinking its Jaws and should stop watching those big wave movies or work out and paddle out. thank god I live in the west

went out this arvo had a fun session , one guy on the ski must have been bending the rules he wasnt towing but the guy on the back would just dive of onto the wave. The only bummer was it was crowded.

I don't think that jet-ski riders have an ounce of care. One driver with a tow in destroys the fun for 50 or so surfers and produces a nightmare for SUPs. I guess I could yell abuse however it cannot be heard over the engine drone. Jet skis are my buzz kill. I see a jet-ski under tow on the road now and I start to crush my steering wheel.... ahhh time to increase the medication!!!

I don't think we should pigeon hole but I know what you are talking about.
I have no problems with skis at outer bombies or when beaches are to big for most to paddle surf.
I haven't been towing in once this summer which is disappointing but I haven't missed it. We just
haven't had swell/wind combo when I've had time off. It's a bit of a novelty thing but it's such a
rush towing into waves that could really hurt you.

Nothing beats SUP though!
