I freelance in pretty much anything to do with IT, web development, branding and graphic design. I work on medium to large scale projects and specialise in project managing start up companies. It's just temporary until I can find someone to pay me to surf

Am a manual arts teacher at high school, which is good as I have a surfboard construction class where a have to demonstrate to students how to make surfboards. This allows me to grow my collection for the price of materials. Am involved in performance coaching, helping people and businesses achieve better outcomes, and have also started a business installing artificial grass.

Well up to the end of last year I supplied generator power and distribution networks to major events, international films and the main power grid.

Kristi is studying photography at school and wanted to make a career out of it so she is learning the business from the grass roots up with Sea Me Surf Photography.

She is currently selling sup, surf, coastal images and portraiture to pay for sup toys.

Supping, photography and travel is her objective!

Work for an environmental consulting group as a Civil and Environmental Engineer doing flood modelling and stormwater design. Office hours 8-6 doesn't leave as much time for supping as I'd like but at least it pays for all my toys.

Own and run a SUP/kite/tow surf shop. long hours 7days a week.

But i get good water time, pretty much anytime there are waves i can get out there, its all part of the job. It's a good life style, money could always be better but the stoke is why we all do what we do and i'm about as stoked as anyone..

Sure beats labouring for the last 10 years or so

I support my watersports toy obsession by the Chinese water method. I have found if I tell my wife often 'I am going to have a new SUP shortly' (or paddle or sail or fin or whatever....) for long enough, she gets used to the idea. After the initial fireworks we settle down to a moody silence about it. After more time passes (needs to be in proportion to the size of the purchase), I then buy it, and say, 'but I have been telling you for ages, I thought you approved'. Works a treat.

So, I am just about in the market for a new SUP right now (I have been saying I need a new SUP for 8 months now).

Other than that, I have a ticket to drive a computer, building economics reports.

I say to my wife surfing is like golf... you don't go round the course with a five iron..which is my zen explanation for a garage full of boards

When I'm not surfing I own a wine marketing company in Margaret River which keeps my libation fueled on a regular basis I also consult to the Emirate of Dubai in strategic beach safety services (crazy russians keep drowning!)

Of course everyone is telling the truth about themselves

About Me

"I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch break, making them more efficient in the area of heat retention. I translate ethnic slurs for Cuban refugees, I write award-winning operas, I manage time efficiently. Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row.

I woo women with my sensuous and godlike tuba playing, I can pilot autos up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and I cook Thirty-Minute Brownies in twenty minutes. I am an expert in stucco, a veteran in love, and an outlaw in Peru.

Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I play bluegrass cello, I was scouted by the Cubs, I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I'm bored, I build large suspension bridges in my basement. I enjoy urban hang gliding in my backyard. On Wednesdays, after work, I repair electrical appliances free of charge.

I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and an avid riverboat gambler. Critics worldwide swoon over my original corduroy evening wear. I don't perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. I have been caller number seven and have won weekend concert passes. Last summer I toured Indiana with a traveling centrifugal-force demonstration. I bat .400. My deft foral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me.

I can hurl racketball rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Moby Dick, and David Copperfield in one day and still had time to refurbish an entire dining room that evening. I know the exact location of every food item in Dominick's supermarket. I have performed several covert operations for the CIA. I sleep once a week; when I do sleep I sleep in a chair. While on vacation in Canada, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery. The laws of physics do not apply to me.

I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and all my bills are paid. On weekends, to let off steam, I participate in full-contact origami. Years ago, I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four course meals using only a mouli and a toaster oven. I breed prize-winning clams. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin.

I have played Hamlet, I have performed open-heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis."

main gig is working for IBM in the as a Information Security Engineer. Coach SUP after hours and on weekend, which is slowly getting busier and busier and paddle whenever I get the chance. Surfed all my life, and races ocean ski's. So when my neighbour Tom introduced me to SUPing...it was a perfect fusion my two ocean passions. Which was good because finding time for one is hard enough.....

Work at a RAAF Base on our fighter jets in corrosion control, keeping them rust free pretty much. Love the hours finish early (2pm) and it's outdoor work which I love. After 20 odd years of night shifts! Spent most of my life in the military so this gig is a breeze as a born again civvy. Only down side is I have to surf weekends now and the crowds are unbearable sometimes!! I'm sure these SUP's have magnets on them....

Currently commuting 184km round trip (Gold Coast to Brisbane CBD) doing Commercial Trade Finance for a bank.

Only been doing it 2 months - need to get a transfer back down the Coast!!

Best thing about SUP is it allows me to get on the water in the creek if the ocean isn't feeling co-operative.
