Yeah a bit like winning the lottery, when I went through there were about 5000 applicants for about 180 positions, but you'll never know if you don't try

Just go for it Pete.
When I applied in 1985 the queue just to get into the entrance
exam disappeared down the street and around the corner.
7000 applicants that year.
If a retard like me can get in, any one can!
Am lobbying for SUP to be included in the
Guns and Hoses surfing comp for cops and firies.
Being a fireman has its challenges but you do get to surf heaps.
At one station I worked at we had 12 guys on shift and 10 surfed,
exellent for trips down the coast midweek.BTW once I counted 18
firies in the water at Werri, and the last guy wasn't a firie but his dad was!
Have noticed heaps of other stinkin firies on this and
the Zone thread.

Agree, don't have to be a brain surgeon to put the wet stuff on the red stuff. SUP at Guns N Hoses would be great.

I say to my wife surfing is like golf... you don't go round the course with a five iron..which is my zen explanation for a garage full of boards

When I'm not surfing I own a wine marketing company in Margaret River which keeps my libation fueled on a regular basis I also consult to the Emirate of Dubai in strategic beach safety services (crazy russians keep drowning!)

I managed Hamelin Bay Wines for 6 yrs For big Richard !!

Hows Julian getting on out there at main Break on the sub.

Nah,
not enough brownie points.
But I got to go to Green Island which starts
with a G and ends with a land. Also an awesome left.
Same Same but less grunt.
All reports say convention was a smash!
Almost as fun as the time a firie mate of mine put
some special muffins on the cops refreshment table at the Guns n Hoses.

So how about selling us all on a SUP specific release / massage then?
After a 2 or 3 hour session in the surf I, for one, carry all sorts of tension around for a few days.

Yeah I spoke to Rach a couple of days ago on the phone, say gday to Jules for me!
Interesting or what working for big Rick
He got me a brand new Triton as part of my package, i used to take it into Boranup along the beach surfing when it was on.

One day on a huge swell and full tide i went low on the beach instead of up high and got the ute stuck, when big sets where coming there was a little right hander breaking off the tray of the ute i swear this car near got swallowed by the Indian Ocean water was just gushing through the cab.

I started saying to my mate we will have to just bail and leave it and go and report it as stolen One last go and we just managed to get it out!!

Man lucky Richard was not coming back down from Perth for a week. Took ages to clean the car up.

For the last 17 years ive been the Snapon tool franchise owner for Newcastle.
Three years ago I designed a new truck and had it built in Melbourne.I beleive its the only Snapon truck in the world with a builtin hatch for a surf board or sup, whitch enables me to sup surf before work or take an hour off during the day if the surf comes on later.

Good morning all.

I run a Not For Profit organisation called Fair Business - we run real businesses, employ people who have encountered the odd barrier to employment - depression, long term unemployed, refugee, indig Aussies (forget what the Govt tells us - heaps of people wanting work).
We sort it so they can work the hours they can cope with, pay them the same $$ as anyone else working and help with training etc.

We have stuff in Victoria (The Social Roasting Co) and NSW - Fair Repairs (building and maniteneace stuff where we link local tradies and people who want work in Nowra, the Gong, Campbletown and soon around Redfern) and the Back Office which does admin for other NFP's like SurfAid (a little bit) etc.

Got any useful skills and want to come play let me know!
