i don't know if this is relevant but i was at the duck flat wooden boat factory last week and they use bote-cote unless it's a clear finish when they use the west system.

Bote Cote Australia make a water based epoxy. It is just so much easier to work with than the normal stuff. You can apply it to damp surfaces and if it gets wet before curing instead of going white and plastic like it eventually comes good. You can also get a non-yellowing hardener. Likewise, clean up is easier. After using it on my yacht I would not go back to the normal stuff. It is also no more expensive.

Cons: the stuff is mainly used by wooden boat builders and I don't think it has been used on surfboards. Like most epoxies, it takes a while to cure.

The best I have used is Entropy Super Sap, 35% bio content. Goes off quick, easy to sand, no blush. Pro's: easy to use, save the world one glass job at a time, very clear. Cons: not super white like the new generation stuff.

John Gillis stuff is also very good. Cons: hard to get from John. Pros: John invented the super white, goes off quick, UV inhibitor is great.

Kinetix: Good quality product, the super white is good. Pro's: easy to get, well priced. Cons: Has a bit of blush.

Bote-cote
easy to use 2:1 ratio, great for laminating timber, has 3 different hardeners for cold, warm and normal temps. It has no blush.

Bote- Cote is what I used on my hollow timber sup and it came out really well.
I laminate my street sups with it as well, super strong and has great flex.
I've not used it on any foam boards so can't comment on it's properties in that application

They deliver Australia wide in a few days and have agents in most states.
Cheers

From a punters point of view and being in Sydney, I tried FGI. They were quite helpful after last using normal resin and hardener years ago.
Its not cheap but also years since I bought some.
They also gave me a large amount of "tissue" which was quite easy to work with compared to cloth or carbon.
I was repairing a race board which needed lots of re-inforcement and dings fixed.
It was quite good to wet out and the resin if mixed properly or maybe with a bit less hardener let me work with it and do a lot of wetting out before it went off.
Just my 2 bob's worth.

Check the link.....I'm not typing it all twice.
I've used BoteCote on EPS and on balsa......good gear.

FGI = :-( unless you have a full biohazard suit on.
