So many options Tux. Keep well clear of Kuta / Legian. It all depends on the holiday agenda and the time of year....Do you want to be near the surf and away from all the crap? My lady and I were going to rent this whole place to get married. Looks unreal and comes with good recommendations from friends who have stayed there. But not great for the chicks to get to the beach. Although Padang is not too far.

Staying around Seminyak is a great option as the ladies can hang out down the beach and drink cocktails at Ku De Ta. Also loads of nice restaurants and things to do....be warned though as this is not the cheap end of time. expect to pay similar to Aussie prices. You can get an early morning ride out to Canggu though which only takes about 15 mins. And further a field lots of other waves to play with. Mission though to get out to the Bukit from there. If you are planing on surfing out that way mostly I would look to stay that side.

Tux,

Try this place - Villa Tranquill Balian. A couple of breaks right out front. Away from all the madness.

Nice village a short walk away with basics and restaurants.

Can rent the whole villa, upstairs, dowenstairs etc etc would suit a couple of families perfectly. Has a pool etc etc

It is owned by the Academy of Surfing Instructors.

Go onto the ASI website and all the details are there, you can also make an enquiry directly from their web page.

Good Luck.

ET.

I've heard Two Brothers is nice, just up from Legian towards Seminyak. Have a mate there now, with a couple of other families.
