Hi all, Does anyone have much experience with the surf in and around Eaglehawk neck in Tassie? I know obviously there's plenty of swell hitting the Tasman Peninsula and there's some prime surf to be had within an hour's drive. I'm really meaning Eaglehawk itself or very nearby, say within 5kms.

I see that it gets plenty good from time to time, I also see that it is more or less dead flat in most random photo's of the bay. My question is really how consistently there's a ride-able wave. Is it the sort of place that you can more or less everyday surf? (Happy surfing 1 - 6 foot.)

Hey salty, EHN is a great base, even the smallest easterly swell will produce a wave there and also a big southerly, but there are days when it's totally flat, but I would think you get more days in the surf than not + it's offshore in the prevailing winter winds of westerly through to southerly, but they do blow hard. If there's no surf you are only 1/2 hour from some other good breaks, roaring beach, Carlton river/park beach and boneyard.
