I'm looking at getting a longboard for my wife as she is keen to surf but has no interest in learning to ride a shortboard. As its a first board I don't want to shell out too much cash just in case she doesn't enjoy herself (hard to believe she won't I know).

I was looking at this http://sanctumsurf.com.au/products-page/surf-boards/long-boards/performer-mal/ as a cheap first board option. Thoughts?

I've had a look on Gumtree and eBay but there doesn't see to be too many low priced longboards in reasonable nic floating around in Vicco. Any other recommendations welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys, I should have stated that she has had a crack at a couple of different size boards in her lessons and is really looking for something in the 9-9'6 sort of range.

The sanctum are fine for what they are.

Your not paying too dollar so don't expect It to be the same as a CW, they use cheaper blanks , thinner stringers and probably squeeze a lot of the resin out. I have a SB it has a few depressions but for the $ they are good.

I actually thought about buy one of there logs last year.

That Mct looks a great buy/option. For me I'd much rather a well made 2nd hand board with soul over one of these super cheap knock up things. I've got this cracker old no brand thing and still run her out from time to time, beautiful old thing and $200 6 years ago at a random garage sale, sweet as.
