What bad things can happen to boards if they are stored in a garage that gets really hot???? I am talking bake a cake hot, the door faces directly west and gets direct sun for most of the arvo...

They are in padded travel bags........

Just trying to work out whether to hang them on the wall in there or find somewhere else to store them.

My good boards stay inside the house - in the spare room in travel bags. The rest of my boards are in a tin shed in full sun - 50+ degrees easy. Both on the top shelf about a foot from the roof. Again, both in board bags... the newish one is all good and has been in there for about a year, the old one that is about 10yrs old and taken in a bit of water and is browning and now has an obvious twist to it... BUT I stress this is an old board that is no longer worth worrying about... just a junker to loan out when someone needs one...

Horto had a white board stored in a silver travel bag in the garage go brown around the rails .

Reckon it was probably more retained moisture though then heat , not that hot here

Have made sure my boards are dry since then though before packing them away .

At the very least, unzip the board covers a bit.

Finally got back to this one ..... Yes garage is lined, brick veneer (plasterboard). Bad bit is that the door faces directly west so gets >40 degrees in there. I need to insulate the door I reckon.

My board is currently in the spare room with my sons, which is getting on the nerves of the better half need to sort something permenant.

Thanks for the responses

40 degrees is about the limit... White foam will still go off colour in heat, with no excessive sun exposure.

Hard to line a garage door... Depends on style of door... Most garages leak a stack of air around the door anyway... Sounds like you need to order 3 custom McTavish tinted boards, so there are boards for everyone, which won't discolour in heat!
