Thanks new guy . Don't know yet about the turns only got the longboard a week ago and there's been no surf here since . When southwesterlys blow here it is pretty cold and crappy and the surf is flat .. Been thinking about getting one for a while was eyeing off the UFO or UF 8 . Had a surf at the start of the week and it was crap . A bloke on an SUP was catching everything and riding them all the way to the beach while what I was catching was dying in the arse half way there . So got the ****s with the short board and went and bought this old second hand longboard .
Kadillac I did have 3 boards for about a year ( my fish and 2 other short boards ) . Must admit I only surfed the other 2 boards when the fish was in for repairs so ended up selling them both and kept the fish .

Or they'll keep you on a shorter board, and allow you to improve your avg wave count in less than ideal conditions...

IMHO

Don't worry GPA, they can't break my spirit. I am slowly converting the longboard team over to "big fish". It will take some time but I started by getting their king on a big fish. He rode the fish and he liked it

Soon you will graduate to an even smaller fish and the joys will be huge!

Its good to have a spare board or two if you can afford it I reckon. In the last 4 days I have smashed a fin out of one board and put a hole in the deck of another. Without having the spares I would have missed one of the best w/e's of waves for some time. Normally I repair my own boards but sometimes when they are really bad I need to call in the experts.

That was my plan too. She's very light and been riding a 8' softy, but cannot turn it. Tried a hired 6'8" 7s Superfish XL and loved it, turned easy, wants it. What board do you guys suggest for a 45kg daughter that only gets to surf once every 4 to 5 weeks?

Chrispy we haven't discovered wave pools yet in Tassie though they would have been handy here for the last week . We finally had a few waves coming through last night .
Kadilac I reckon your old fish would be perfect for your kid . Mine had a mad dog softy and a little swallow tail and hated it . Got them bigger boards with more volume all of a sudden started catching waves and loving it .
