Had a nightmare trip to Merimbula this year.
Lost a board off the roof, major back injury.
Got to the point I wondered if the back injury was a heart attack - massive pain in my chest, shooting pain down my arm.
Took myself to Pambula hospital, feeling like a dickhead.
They calmed me down. did ECG, blood tests.
No heart attack.
But they told me off for not calling an ambulance.
Don't be embarrassed , gentleman of our age experience this.
Health people do not hold it against you if you are worried.

Et. I have aspiren every morning but ive never heard of it being used to save a heart attack victim.

Don't know all the details, but he had some blockages and by administering the aspirin it thinned the blood so as to allow a flow past the blockage.
ONe of his companions was a nurse and gave it to him. I understand asprin thins the blood.

Not a doctor though, this is from conversation.

Yeah. Thats what it does. But had no idea it could work so fast.

But kind of remember now runners will use it on very long run races

Good advice to get a check, not just for this, most blokes are pretty reluctant to go to a doctors and pull the it will be right in a few days line but if something doesn't feel right go get checked out...

And a doing CPR resuc course is a great idea as well..
