I live in the west midlands UK and really wanted to know where I could most easily travel to for good surf. Would be traveling from roughly Birmingham to likely somewhere along the west coast.

North Devon would be your best bet. Try Woolacombe if you are a beginner. South Wales is an option for you. Porthcawl would be worth a look. Summertime waves in the UK are few and far between.waiting for autumn and winter swells would be your best bet if you're looking for better quality waves.

Keep an open mind for the East Coast too - some gems on the English Channel fed by low oressure systems in the North Sea. Also Devon, Wales (North and South) and if despsrate for a wave, maybe consider the wavepools in Snowdonia and Bristol. Check out www.surfline.com for more detailed information and swell conditions. If you are really keen, check out the awesome Stormrider Guides from LowPressure Publications.
