Hey guys

I need some advice. I made a mistake 3 years ago when I was 19. Thought it'd be a great idea to buy some ecstasy off the web and split it between friends. Ended up being life-changing ordeal when I was caught. I've moved on from it now though, just got my Masters degree which is great. Anyway, I'm a big surfer and love surfing overseas especially Indonesia. I haven't been there since I got arrested but have fond memories of the place. I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with this or knows anyone that could give some advice? I don't want to travel somewhere only to be deported at customs. I don't want to have a bad mark on my passport as this could heavily impact my travel life even after I get my record removed in 7 years. I have EU citizenship so I'm not worried about going to Tahiti or other EU islands, however, those places are an absolute trek away (i'm in WA). I've been making the most of WA waves though (thank god I live here) but wouldn't mind venturing out to different waves or even going on a holiday elsewhere.

Appreciate any advice
cheers!

Hey mate

Anywhere in Indo should be fine, I haven't any convictions but been to Indo surfing with mates that have (drugs) and they have never had any issues.
Don't even think about the US they will deport your arse before your feet even touch the ground, as you have an EU passport anywhere in Europe should be fine.

Well done on the masters degree. It shows that you want to contribute and care about progress. You're young, a small hiccup in the scheme of things. Fiji, Tonga, Micronesia, Africa... plenty of places to get your fill. You could spend 2 weeks in NZ or Tassie and have an awesome surf trip. Hell, I bet there's waves in WA you haven't surfed that will cook your turkey and keep you frothing.

I think NZ is off the books but I'll check out the other places!
