I recently moved to the Florida East Coast to live and foil after 21 years of sailing and foiling in land and feels great be back in the salty water again.
I cannot tell you how much nicer a smooth consistent "sea breeze" is over 5 gusting 25 rollercoaster wind that you get inland on the fresh stuff, coastal winds are awesome.
Anyways the last couple of sessions I have been foiling with Milsurf.... (It took me a while to figure that out from his thread on the wizard and axis post he made a few days ago).
MilSurf is on the Wizard 114 and Axis foil 930 front wing, 90cm aluminum mast and fuse
Myself on the Wizard 130, SS infinity 76, 90cm aluminum mast and fuse
It was my first time wind foiling with someone on that set up (I have only ever seen wingers on Axis) and he is very quick, looks to be pretty agile in the turns as well, and also witnessed a few boosts .
Both equally great set ups plus giving you the confidence to try new transitions.
Here is some footage from Sunday with a winger called Max he has only been foiling 8 times and already gybing, super stoked for him, he was on the aluminum NP (green) foil.
Very Nice Vid and congrats on the move.
I couldn't seem to find Jacques beach on google maps. Does it have another name?

I have no idea why its called Jacques Beach and its not on the map either. I have spent past 3 weeks driving to various spots and 90% of the launch areas are not called after the park, the locals call it something else
Kelly Park West is probably the most well known on the Banana River so if you drive east on the 528 causeway towards Cape Canaveral then Jacques Beach is right off the main road and has a small sandy beach.
I have foiled there twice and its down in my books as one of the best spots I have foiled for practicing tricks as the wind is super consistent there.

Yeah, you had folks who've sailed that area for years mystified. Thanks for the info.
Awesome video Dean - stoked to see you got back to the coast.
Looks like you're surrounded by foiling options
Nice Dean, looks the THE place to be
Love the variety of gopro positions. Have you tried the clew mount. I used it on a 5.4, think it could have been better if it was able to be setup/extended past the end of the boom. Have to try the top of the sail mount. The only thing is the mount I use would only work on vario top sails(only have 2).
Could you explain what cameras mounts you use?

JJ, There are endless launch areas it seems and when we get through the summer into Fall the North fronts will open up and it'll be some spectacular down the line winders.
I just missed the last of the North winds and so it's been onshore most of the time, still had some amazing foil time though, next up is SUP foil and prone foil.

Thanks Connor, I had the day off today, I am so beaten up (still a nice problem to have ).
I have 2 x flymounts, one on the mast and the other on the boom. The boom camera gets more water splashed on the lens so only a small fraction actually made it on this edit, I have a carbon fishing pole to extend the GoPro but it's in a moving box somewhere??
even the helmet lens had this annoying water droplet sitting in the corner the whole time I was filming grrrr!
I have a GoPro black 5 in 4K on my helmet.
I use a GoPro 4 silver in 1080 on the mast mount.
I have a GoPro Hero on the boom mount and footage from the land is on a Sony a6500 camera.
I have preset 2 video modes #1 is standard video in 4K and #2 is slo motion in 1080.
I use Filmora Pro editing software and a 3 min video takes 3-4 hours to edit
Dean, Good Move mate! I love that area! I spent a few months there a couple of winters ago to stay warm and sail more.
The Banana river was the BEST thing for my foling. I always felt safe pushing my limits there.
I just sent a note to the folks we rented from to see about this coming winter, we will see.
By the way, keep your eyes out for a dude that windsurfs in his jeans. Seariously, he is this brilliant Dutch guy named Willem. Really friendly and one of the best windsurfers I know. I loaned him my spare foil and he was ripping on his first day on a Horue! The other guy you want to meet if you have not yet is Dwight Fisher, he is leading the way in wing foil boards. Really stoked for you!!!

Thanks a bunch.
Dwight and Jackie were the first people I met on day one at Kelly park. I had been following them on Instagram for a while and they have been really helpful with local knowledge. Dwight has a new spot apparently and I'll have to go check it out soon.
the closest launch for me is called Joe's corner (named after a local winger, ha!) it's 10 mins from my house. If it's 12 on the ocean it's 18+ At Joe's as it gets squeezed under a causeway bridge. Beautiful area and ideal for foiling
if you guys make it to Florida this year let me know and we shall go foil
Great video, thanks for sharing. Congrats on the move, sounds like a great place for foiling. Keep'em coming.
