The camera work is so horrible. The have decent views, but they only show them briefly. It's almost too frustrating to watch.

Exciting racing but a bit frustrating with how it was shown. Losing a drone did not help. With some better and higher quality cameras this could be a very exciting TV sport. My guess is that the racers and organizers are very happy with the quality of the racing.

I agree DG. I prefer a seat but was testing my waist harness out for last month or so. Still, either way I'd love to know the forces being applied!

The change in course for the finals was a bit of a head scratcher (not sure if that was always planned or it was a weather decision) but I was super happy to have the windsurfing TV coverage. It was just the right level of "bootstrapping" that our sport deserves.

Seems like the people giving him the livestream didn't really know where to focus their shots, often he was giving them tips in the commentary. "Its a race between 3rd and 4th, show us that"

GPS trackers would have helped too, but they had to go to Japan for the olympics.

I thought the racing was pretty spectacular.
Changing from fleet racing for final qualification, to knock out races, is an interesting format.
Nico was obviously worried as he still could have lost, even though in a normal regatta, he probably would have won without sailing the final.

However, Nico going alone up the final windward leg was pretty amazing - and a shame the drone didn't follow him. But it showed why he wins races, with a mixture of speed and tactics

obviously the tv coverage could be improved... but then again the Olympic coverage wasn't exactly brilliant either.
Ben and Antonio worked really well together- and gave the best they could-giving the limited information available.
As they said, it'll be easier to follow, once the sail numbers for the sailors change to national ranking numbers.
Lots to be excited about

Spectacular racing and the race format makes for excitement (and more nerves for the riders).
World Speedway ran for decades with a 'one race knock out' championship decider and have switched to points over the season format, so there's experience for you.
Everybody on the same sail colour, ho hum and confusing.
Imho, the race would look even more spectacular with varied sail colours.
How about 'colours for country' since it is an Olympic class.
Not too much of a big deal for Severne to produce varied colour ways for such a world wide deal.

Wanted to close my eyes during the starts. 80 riders split between two different tacks. Maybe they need to consider starts similar to the finals. The "AC" or "SailGP" style of start. Still would be interesting as the competitors fight for the pin or boat end. First mark if too close to start would be more than interesting. Hopefully next year GPS tracking and better plus more on water and drone video angles/coverage. Ben and his co-commentator will have a few months to memorize names and numbers:).

Never into RSX class. Never watched. Never followed. But this one design iQFoil class has caught my interest. Small sailboat sailor, but never into yacht racing. Until the AC at SanFran. Now into AC and SailGP racing. Must be the foil.

Did the RSX class ever attract a fleet size similar to the iQFoil class?
