yes, there should be, Amado on FF and Maciek on FMX, but they're nothing else than starboard Iq boards with a paint job (done by starboard for those two brands, under the white board agreement)

I guess you meant manufactured by Cobra. I don't think that SB has any manufacturing. Obviously it's SB design.

Local IQ racers seem to be happy with a board. But sail durability has been disappointing. Also they have experienced breaking fuselages.

Interestingly, I don't think it's paint. I believe it's some sort of wrap.

It's done at Cobra (obviously) under starboard licence, by paint job I meant it's cosmetic cover, the board is unchanged.
Next year manufacturers will be able to produce their own IQ under starboard licence, respecting all specs.

We have heaps of the sails here in QLD for at least a year now with no real issues.

Where in the sail is the issue?

Same in WA no real known issues with the sails
other than fair wear.
also would like to know more about breaking fuselages? I'm guessing that meant bending?

I'm on phantom but seen some of the nsw Severe sails wear around the clew, eyelet pulling out. I guess the down side of using a 9.0 in all wind strengths.
but also consider that most of us ride once a week and often these competitive riders are out nearly every day

Earlier this year at Kurnell, a starboard iq fuse broke in front of the mast meaning the front wing & the front part of the fuse went to Davy Jones locker. It was unusual but not noteworthy as the gear gets used hard. It didn't bend, it cracked.

So far my sail has held up even after my first mast breaking, and I tried to careful derig while floating in the water.

Board is good other than being very very easy to damage on the bottom surface. Have multiple repairs there. Nothing noticeable on the foil.

Can't find specifics of the race ... what are those numbers, speeds over? nautical mile, 500 meters, 2 seconds?

"Shifty North wind prevailed on the first day of competition so no racing was done, BUT we run a fun speed event, not counting for the Worlds. 2000 Swiss Francs to be split on the top 3 men and women, encouraged a big part of the fleet to go and try to get the top speeds. The provisional results put Nico Goyard and Helene Noesmoen, both from France at the top. "

Interesting how many of the top men were U21. Obviously, I'm assuming some big dogs didn't go out but there's no shortage of youth there. A bunch of U21s learned to foil very well despite the bleating of the naysayers.

Turns out dodgy was, indeed, dodgy

"Hi windfoilers

The official live of the iqfoil world will take place each day from 15:00 to 16:00 CET ON windsurfing.tv

(same youtube link pasted above)

ATTENTION: there is a Fakebook page that promise live and looks like official.. But is leading to a website that collect credit card with a very bad reputation. Therefore be careful with that

Stay safe watch Windsurfing.TV"

windsurfing.tv on youtube: The stream is provided by the organizer... and he gives us 2 slots a day. One in the morning of an hour for tow-in and one in the afternoon for an hour for the racing.

Remember when some said windfoiling racing wasn't tactical? I 'member.

So will they run more slalom races to meet their ideal ratio of 2:1 ?
So far 11 races for gold fleet and only 1 slalom race. ( with 4 winners in 1 round)
Silver fleet 0 slalom.
I assume the wind is over 10 knots to race the course racing, but also not under 15 knots to start slalom.
I still find their format very complicated.

Props to Helene Noesmoen for an amazing performance. A lot of women's sport gets guff for "not being up to level" but the women IQFoilers are great to watch. Noesmoen is worth watching for both her speed and how steady she rides.

I thought the same thing when I watched the women's foiling races as part of the PWA event in Israel earlier this year. They were doing an excellent job just staying upright in those conditions and it was great racing.

Has anyone ever measured down force on the harness lines? I'd love to know how much pressure is being pushed though the mast base!
