So, after a few short runs I finally had a good afternoon of foiling on the PTM1001.

Conditions 15-18 knots with light swell
Phantasm al 103 mast (at setting 6) & 872 fuse
Slingshot Wizard 130 with 4m sail

I've been waiting to give this a decent run.

My initial impressions from 2 short sessions:
Needs to be run forward a bit compared to the 926 for extra lift - narrower chord.
More foot sensitive than the 926.
More glide and speed than the 926 ... but needs a bit more speed/commitment in the gybe.
More difficult to gybe, a bit more sensitive to foot pressure.
It took a longer session to get to grips with it, and then we had today ..

After today:
This thing cranks up wind .. and down wind.
Its a bit more pitchy than the 926 and definitely not as stable ... which is exactly what i was after, a more fluid feeling 926.
It felt way more slippery in the small swell today, turns really quickly and glides really really well.
It feels faster, and didn't get overpowered or create too much lift when the wind picked up a bit - something I find the 926 does.
It was very responsive to small foot inputs when turning, driving down little waves etc. It likes to turn.

... basically a PTM926 turbo.

Recommended if you want a little chilli on your 926.

also if anyone is interested in winging I will be testing the slingshot javelin 5.0 and 4.0 as and when the wind allows.
The G series is a slightly more user friendly version on the PTM foil wings. As you can see with the charts, it will have more glide but the PTM will be faster so also great glide. PTM should carve harder in swell

Yeah I like how they marked stall drop on the charts. Compared to the 76 and 99, which mush and get really high angle of attack with a noticeable stall, the ptm 926 drops really abruptly with less warning. G series looks like it has a lot more feel before stall based off what they provide.

The infinity foils (especially the i84 and i99) are like a good ol' diesel engine they just keep ticking over at low rev's, the i99 I could gybe going like 8 mph, crazy low stall

The PTM's are high speed efficiency, you have to be more aggressive in your riding and it will glide you very well, but you may have to pump more.

The PTM825 I am hoping will be just the ticket for higher winds and down the line wave wind foiling....looking forward to testing this foil wing very much

To tame the 926 when accelerating on a wave the PS325 stab really helps. Much less progressive lift and more relaxed to ride and easier to concentrate on the wave.
But higher stall speed too, so you have to be more sensitive at the end of your maneuvers.
Maybe an alternative to a smaller Frontwing

Good idea! I need to try the 325 rear wing for wind foiling, I have used it quite a bit for winging, it makes transitions so smooth but I found it very pitchy going off the wind and sometimes would foil out, having said that I need to keep dialing in the foil position as well.

I tried my new 2nd hand PTM 926 today in 10 to 14kts of wind with a 5m Supersession. Very nice indeed. The glide is the most impressive characteristic, heaps of time to glide through gybes, all you need to do is forget about the sail and just concentrate on a smooth carve and foot change. It is effortless.

I'm thinking the PTM930 will be the go in 16+ conditions.

Does anyone have further experience on the ptm 930? There are wingers here now riding 900-1100 foils, and the guys on 900 size are really fast (not sure what brand wing but not phantasms). I can keep up with them on race gear but not the ptm 926. Getting to where I'm coming through my jibes a lot better on the 926 and it would be fun to try something a little faster on freeride.

There's a couple wingers that are jumping those things, one guy in particular was really cruising around 20kts the whole time and getting 2-3 body lengths out of the water on his jumps. I'm more timid but hoping to do more tricks on windfoil vs. wing.
