mmmm goes does down pretty good ill give you that only prob is when you get back to work everyone can see that youve just been windsurfing. but hey, beats sitten behind this computor all day. bout 15 knots atm good time for a cup of coffee
doran's rd is good in a westerly (sw - nw), which it is most of the time. gets some good wave action for bumping and jumping, and you can sail down over the sand flat which is knee - waist deep all the way across, or out further which is deeper. just watch for stingrays if you're jumping off in the shallows. a local favourite spot.
Hey easty, I take it you are from Tassie. Have you ever sailed down at Bruny Island. Cruisin' thru google earth, the causeway between the north and south islands looks like it would make a wicked speed sailing strip. What is it like in real life?
yes yo-yo, google earth is god's gift to computer bound windsurfers, providing countless hours of non productive mind wandering. i've only sailed off the far northern point of bruny is., which is pretty good in a southerly. i reckon the west side of the isthmus would go off on a southeast sea breeze in summer, there is a line of sand dunes down the isthmus but the wind shadow wouldn't be that big. also similar set up on the southern end of south arm (the peninsular to the north of bruny), also check out the channels in cremorne lagoon (on the eastern side of south arm)- they provide nice flat water with the right tide and wind. you can also see on google the bays on the west side of south arm, doran's rd. is the one directly off lauderdale. it's all good!
