This might help (from Peterman's site)
www.peterman.dk/windsurf-boardvolume780-gb.htm* Estimation of the volume of a board (empiric made -
don't look for any logic):*
1. Measure the board where thickest.
2. Measure the circumference of the board with intervals of 20 cm (starting 10 cm from the stern).
3. The measured circumferences of the board are put into the formula: Circumference/221*20*thickness/13, which of course is calculated.
4. The sum of the results (from "3.") tells the volume of the board in liters.
Peterman provides a spreadsheet of some boards he measured, compared to the volumes quoted by the board maker (can't reproduce the spreadsheet here) but the figure for the Bics are pretty good: Bic say that for a 282, the volume was 107 L (108 L calculated) and for the 279, the quoted volume was 96 L (97 L calculated). For the 299, the quoted volume was 149 L (153 calculated).
Hope this doesn't hinder you!
