Hey guys,
Ive jusr rigged my 2 race booms with adj outhauls.
I havent used them on the water yet but the pulley system seems to work fine.
What I am interested in is how far back behind your back hand do you have the cleat??
At the moment I have it quite away back from where i reach back with back hand to start gybe.
Anyone got any tips or pointers??
Thanks

Put them back as far as you can conveniently reach. Tie light bungee to the ends and take it round the front to keep the outhaul line within reach. I'm no expert but I found that no matter where you put them they will be in the way some time. That's why those cleatless webbing ones might just suit you better.

Yep you'll always catch them sometime, if you have it forward enough to put you're hand behind on the gybe you will not have enough leverage. They are worth their money though especially if you someone like me who adjusts outhaul often.

Both of my booms are set at 105-110cm from rear of mast (straight rule down centre of boom).
