Well crap sail today..put the 4.2m on & great run out then fell in & thought Id be stuck out there as not enough wind to waterstart..got in & put the 5m on & downhauled it the most Ive ever done..great going out felt crap coming in just couldnt get going.. moved harness lines around & then just set them like the other side..[}:)]..not enough wind..??? Several runs later I looked up & the mast looks like a banana.. molly coddled it in & it had split just above the join.. I wonder if thats due to using a 430 mast ( sail needs a 400) & downhauling too much..? Although it was 2nd hand mast made up of two odd bits ( the same brand )..Boo Hoo..
Anyone got a top section Sailworks EPX 430 sitting around? mcs 23.5 IMcs 21.00 45% carbon triaxel braid surf mast..

Only thing that made me feel better was that someone else had their first sail for the season & catapulted & dinged the nose of their board + split the sail & another broke his boomm.. crap all round..
