We are heading over for two weeks in November. I am not taking gear, so I will hire. I have heard there can be good sailing there but I am yet to find any info about reliability of wind, ability to rent good equipement, spots to wavesail/blast. Will spend a little time at Isle of Pines and/or loyalty Islands as well. Anyone sailed in Noumea or anywhere in french polonesia? any tips or hints?

Sailed there nearly 10 years ago. Got probably 3 days sailing out of 7. I think it was in March/April.
Locals said to wear booties because of stonefish.
I took gear and regretted it after my board was damaged somewhere in transit. Plus there was a good selection of good gear at the now defunct Club Med.
Other than that, I think my info is out of date. At least the water was warm.
