Got given a case of VB stubbies for a quick contra thing at work. Stupid me didnt specify and the guy didnt ask.
Now I have nothing major against VB but it has to be shared with my staff. Thing is, no bugger wants it.
What do I do??
Take the case and swap it for something else at the bottle-o??
Just let it sit there and gather dust??
Any "normal" suggestions would be appreciated.
Want to see what you guys would do[}:)]

I'll buy it off you for $20.

Or put it in the buy and sell.

Pour it into a glass.

Seriously I don't see what the big deal is, I doubt many 'vb haters' could actually tell you which beer is VB, given three schooners of different brands.

Most VB haters would be either coughing their guts up or under the table after three schooners.

True. I usually only buy top-shelf imported beer (just less of it). I can remember a few special beers in my life. One of them was on a 35 degree day after cutting down a few trees and loading into a flat bed. That VB will remain with me forever.

Wait till it's stinking hot when Aussie beer is at its best.

Think of what you would do with a schooner full of wombat piss.

Then do the same thing. Down the drain.

Coronas, so tastless you have to stick a lime in it to get some flavour!

Dont know why people are so fussed about imported beer! Why buy an import when you can get the real deal localy. Coopers, Beez Neez, James Squire, Red Back, James Boag these are just some of the real beers we have in Australia! All you bloody import drinkers should stop wasting your money and think about the enviroment, how much green house emmisions come from importing a case of Becks from germany to australia a **** load! And our beers way better anyway! Go local

I once had to get rid of a running, licensed Holden Gemini. Stuck a sign on the back window saying "will swap for carton of beer". Before I got to work I had 3 offers.

Maybe stick your VB on the side of the freeway with a sign saying "will swap for Holden Gemini"

actually that was a few years ago so you could could maybe get up to a Daewoo or something now

Love Coopers, but no cheaper than imported now. Too many "cool" people drinking it these days. I always said that Corona is Mexican VB, but if its real cold theres nothign better on a late Summer afternoon whilst standing anywhere near a barbie after a day on the water.

Becks is just a nice crisp clean flavour.

Basically I dont care where it comes from or how much it costs - its how it tastes. I know people who love VB, just not me. Wherever you get it, however much it costs, you've gotta enjoy it.

Gee, thanks fella's.
Your replies have probably started another "local vs imported" flame on.
Mark, your so close. I had a Gemini panel van which I sold to a crim (didnt know then) for $700 and a case of Carlton Draught. Probably shouldve just taken the beer.
Greeny, Offhand, I cant think of anyone. Want to swap for a case of your lovely XXXX??
I love Aussie beers, just not a big fan of Vitamin Bee.
Ill swap it.

Hey Larko,

I know a place where even the cheapest nastiest beer is appreciated when it's free.

Coopers Pale ale $62 for two cartons at the local Sip'n'save.
37.99 at the local bottlo.

I bought a carton at the Parnania bottlo in Sydney while staying with relos's a year ago or so and it was $52 then

Sparkling ale $39.99 on special regularly here

It's not the cool people that drink it in SA - it's people that like the taste of local beer - the Squires stuff is great but costs a premium here as well

Carona - $58 carton - Becks $52 Both tasteless beers that are so overated - the advertisers must be laughing their heads off - my home brew used to taste better

My beer mantra
"if the beers clear - steer clear"

have a BBQ saying b.y.o, when everyone else brings good beer drink theirs, there is always someone who will drink anything, when you drink all their beer. they will drink what ever is left, your VB will be no longer, well most of it.

I can see that out of 23 replies, not one was from Victoria.
They are a bit bitter there...

You should drink Cascade and Boags ! Well, and Coopers of course.
My favorite idea is definitely the BYO BBQ.

If you want find out the cheapest beer in your neighbourhood - www.boozle.com.au

VB only tastes good when you're doing a funnel or if they're cans, a shot gun. It doesn't matter if you waste it either!

VB brewed in Victoria is good. VB brewed in Queensland is crap.

I have found in NSW the VB in 750ml bottles is probably from Victoria and all the other stuff, including kegs is probably brewed at that place between the Gold Coast and Brisbane, Yatla or something like that.

But I'd rather drink a crap local beer than some crap foreign beer that took six months to get here.

Obviously the last guy had the right idea and offloaded the case to you. Now you wait till some unsuspecting person does you a favour worth rewarding and hey presto case has a new home (and if the guy actually likes that ****e then you look like a top bloke. Else he posts similar question an another forum.
