That is the biggest misconception about WA. Yes Swan Draught and Emu Bitter are among the worst mass produced beers in Aus... I will try REAL hard not to focus on the negative, but I will throw in XXXX, Tooheys New, VB, Fosters etc etc as being equally bad!!! I think Tassies Boags and Cascade are the goods, but I am a slightly biased Taswegian... Then there is Coopers, James Squire and Matilda Bay... mmmmm...

Yep, quality of local beer is very important. I wake up to the sweet aroma of malty hops brewing at the Cascade brewery 200m upwind from my house, although the "Northern Tassie" brew of Boags is my preferred drop.

The painted line that divides the Southern Tassie beer drinkers from the Northern Tassie beer drinkers is much more fuzzy these days...

BTW, Boags is my Tassie beer of choice... I was from the Norff.

I remember stealin' dad's beer (like any other kid), opening 'em with a screw driver because we couldn't pull the ring pull on the old steel can with the little triangle hole... Must of been about 5 yo... Led astray by the big bro!

Never got in trouble for that one, guess the parents figured we were too small to be stealin' the beer

Sydney, simple as that. Great summer wind, OK winter winds, great beaches, choice of open ocean beaches or harbour coves. Mind you I find the wind less consistent and more flaky than 20 years ago.

However you need to go back to shore sooner or later to sleep and work, and then, the best place in the world.

Balmoral for inland and the sheilas, Wanda, northern beaches, Kurnell in the Winter.

Paradise. But I like Adelaide too for windsurfing in the summer.
