Hi all,
So I'v decided to have a go at building myself a board. I'm currently drawing up a 120Lt slalom board, and am starting to look for my core material. My question is this: For a typical EPS core, carbon, glass PVC sandwich lay up what density EPS is generally used? I'v been looking at the different building insulation type materials where the density can vary from 10kg per meter cubed to 35kg per meter cubed. Like usual I want the board to be as light as possible, but also would like the material to keep some dimensional accuracy throughout the shaping, glassing and bagging stages. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

All my boards have a 13kg core. 15 kg is very common over here. 20kg is sometimes used for waveboards.
Keeping dimensional accuracy in the vacuum process is one of the most challenging problems in boardbuilding.
