I’m gearing up for an end of year trip
am looking for recommendations on double board bags that fit 2 boards plus 3-4sails/1 boom/2 masts

so far mfc and simmer are on my radar.

Are you flying, if so you'll struggle to keep the combined weight under 32 kgs.
3 kg Bag
13 kg 2 boards
13 kg 4 sails
2 kg boom
4 kg 2 masts
2 kg harness
2kg extension & mast base

I flew to Maui last year. The most I could fit in a flying objects roller bag was 1 foil board, 3 sails, 2 masts, 1 boom and waist harness without spreader bar. I could just close the zipper and it weighed 31 kg

Yep.. i’ll be taking harness in luggage and may be able to get 1 sail in another board bag… all the gear is carbon and light weight so a little under your figures but as you point out, it’s gonna be tight.. other option. Is just need to pay excess but agree, ideally undef 32kg the goal.

plus, i need gear to fit.. might buy a board at destination to use there and then bring home.

Airlines won’t take over 32kg per bag. So if you’re in the border it’s better to just pay extra for two bags and not stress about it and take it extra stuff. If it’s over 32 they’ll make you split into two checked bags anyway

I'd stay away from roller bags when flying as those bags are considerably heavier so you'll loose another kg or 2.

Generally your choice will be limited by what's available if your in Oz.

Also, have you considered renting if available at the destination? I know nothing beats having your own gear, but traveling light is quite nice and the money spent on new bags might cover the first 2 or 3 days of rental.

If i only take 3 sails in the double board bag i have total at 30kg so it’s close… max 64 across 2 bags?
2nd bag, (for me) will be single only. Possibly a day bag based on ben profitt’s travel video.
