Did not get your emails before I left on holidays so here is the update so far...
No wind, rain, bloody cold and the beer is always hot.
Lies, lies, lies, lies. Just didnt want to rub it in.
Have been sailing consistent winds of 25-30 knots. The water here is crystal clear and anything more than a rashie and boardies is going to be too hot.
As for the surfing, waves have been around the 4-5 foot, however it has just picked up to over head height. It has also been a little hassled in the water, the other day there must have been about four of us out there!!
Havent put on a pair of shoes, long pants or jumper since I arrived either. As for the crime rate here... leave the boards and all gear down the beach, keys are rusted into your vehicle ignition, no such thing as locking the doors on your house. Need I go on.
A day in the life on island starts with an 8-11am sail. Home for a feed and then out to explore, go fishing, or build up a few brownie points with the missus. In the afternoon we head out for a surf from 3-6pm. Then finally back to the pub/club to drink and eat. Always a trap as all the alcohol is tax free.
Anyway, hoping that the cold fronts are finally pushing a few winds in down your way. Not looking forward to getting back and having to wear a wetsuit.
Was meant to be coming home on Monday, but have decided to stay on for another week.
See you all then.
All the best.
Borby
P.S. Will post a few picks on the photos.
And to think the Exmouth sailing trip only ten weeks away. Life is tough.
