G'day Julien!
We got back last night from staying behind Point Moore lighthouse.
Small 3 bed fibro house, was closer to the lighthouse than the lighthouse was to the water (~150-200m door to shore), all for $60 per night (or $350 per week). Sleeps 6 and has secure back yard for dog (we took our dog and 23 month old son).
The only thing that wasn't on the go for me was the breeze... "You should have been here last week!" and "Looking good for Tuesday!" (the day we were leaving...)
Plenty of beach for the dog too. I think all beach to the south of the carpark was cool for dogs, but we took ours everywhere with no bribing required.
Glenys the caretaker looked after us! Ph 08 9921 2642
I can e-mail you photos if you text me your e-maill address to 0418 94 00 88.
Have a great trip and heavy breeze to you!!
Seaton.

Nice work Julien!
Glenys will have some rainwater in the fridge for your arrival (bewwwwwdiful!!!), perhaps even some organic tomatos and radish.
The fridge freezes water when set at 3/4 volume, though never froze a beer - kept them bloody cold though!!!
There's a chinese/thai restaurant just before you hit town on Marine Tce (on RHS) which had great tasty grub, fresh fish shop and local butcher on Marine Tce were well worth a visit too!
Cheap coffee/cake combination across from Target entrance in shopping centre on Chapman Rd should get you some browney points with the wife too (remembering it was very un-windy on my visit, I clocked up a lot of points!)
There's about 7-10 reef breaks (breaking in different directions - spinny!) within 200m around the point if you're into the waves, which were breaking half to mast high when I was up there remember no wind!). There is thigh to chest deep water to the SW of the point which would have been a blast in prevailing SW breeze. Sails West right at the base of the lighthouse gave peace-of-mind should any hardware fail you - nice bloke too!!!
Some website crew swear by Coronation beach about 20km north of town on the NW Coastal hwy, with chest deep flat water and decent break.
Good winds to you and I really wish I could get more time off to go back!!!!!!

G'Day Seaton,
Sorry you missed tuesday, that was the only decent day we had, sailed ourselves silly!!!
I also managed 3 or 4 grovel wavesails, but they were too light for my wife, she only had tuesday.

Hey Mike! Nice to hear someone was getting stuck into all the breeze I was driving home into
I reckon my "string of three" in the bad-luck/poor-timing stakes is finally at an end.
We had ~ 18K+ in Bunbury on Saturday so finally headed down the water when given a few hours off by my beautiful wife.
Rigged the 5.7 (that still has the luff tears A****n Sails couldn't repair in time for me prior Gero). I had about eight good runs with another couple of blokes out before I landed on the bloody clew, blowing a tube at the back of my boom (apologies to the gents if you were of any religious persuasion with the verbal barrage the boom received...)
Consolation is that I have been given permission to grab a brand new Hydrodynamix next time I'm in Perth (thinking of heading up tomorrow! [}:)])

The wondrous Mr Hardman deserves all the good fortune he recieves Fish!

That reminds me, was it the type with small diam tubing at the back with the adjusting holes in it??
Most people run those with the holes down, so water drains out. But this puts the holes under tension, especialy if you have a hooked in flat landing. Seems better to me to have holes up, might hold a bit of water, but the boom lasts should last longer.
Any thoughts anybody????

The strong HD wave boom has holes in the thick front tubing and not so small rear tube, get one of those Seaton, much better.

Mike.

dogs are surely mans best friend!

but for men to be other mens best friend,

men should leave their furry best friend at the pet hotel.
