The winter fronts of late are great for our breeze fix (it is definately an ADDICTION!!!) but looking down the track, as Winter moves on and Spring heads our way the fronts stop coming through quite as often.

Has anyone jagged that special week/weekend up North in September/October?
When do we start to get reliable seabreezes up around places like Geraldton/Leeman/Jurien etc? Does the season start earlier up there?

Has anyone a link to 2003 BOM Record site or the like to gauge actual wind strengths recorded at any rural centres?

Questions, so many questions...

Getting gone!!! (Hopefully)

Sorry "East Coasters", I don't mean to leave you out but was talking about North WA (but then again it's only a 4489km from Bunbury to Brisbane. Lay it on me!!!!).

G'day Seaton,
You might want to venture a little further north for an early start to the season. G%^#@*oo starts to work in October and then the breezes start to move down the coast. They don't call it screemn' Leeman for nothing and November the breeze really gets going in that part of the world. Having lived up there for 3 years (Leeman) you can jag it in October, just watch the weather maps. Big high = Big Fun.
Have a good one

G'Day Seaton,

For the last 6 or 7 years we've headed up to gero for a forthnight or so, end of October early November, have probably sailed 50% of the time, on wave boards with 3.7s to 5.3s. If you've got slalom stuff you'd do even better. Trouble is predicting what days! If you're only going for a weekend, you may not get anything. From experience, the weather charts don't tell the whole story!
Even that early in the season Gero can trough out for 2-3 days. Or it can blow 20+kts for 3 or more days, with head high waves. Great down the line at Sunsets, and jump city at Coro.
