Just wondering how far back most slalom/speed sailors position their straps on bigger boards like 120 to 130 litre sizes??
I usually have them around the middle to third hole back front and back but was curious if others have them ALL the way back to help with leverage over wide boards and bloody big fins??

Hey Larko, on my JP Slalom Pro 132 I have the strap second hole from the front on the front strap and second hole back from the back for the back strap.

On my supersport 74 (127L) I have them in the second from the front. But I wouldn't go by my settings, I chose these because I was transitioning from an x-cite ride and have never bothered to change them, seems comfortable so why?
Maybe I will play around win them next seasons, but generally I try to keep as many things as constant as I can, the weather is a big enough variable.

on my 120lt hawk (and any slalom oriented board) it's foot straps all the way back and all the way out. i've not found the exception yet, but every sailor is going to sail and tune differently. on these type of boards, i always have two rear straps.
with that in mind - i find that:
-further back releases pressure on the nose, promoting speed and release (at the cost of maneuverability).
-further out gives me plenty of leverage to control the board trim at speed and in choppy conditions.
if you try further back, it's possible you'll need to move your mast foot back and/or your boom up to compensate.
