Just wondering if anyone knows the best way to get a daily forecast sent to their mobile phone of your particular sailing area? and is their a cost...

There's always a cost.

I think there is/was a service called Breaking Wind. Never used them and don't know any details, but if they still exist, I'm sure they'll show up somewhere.

Dude!

www.seabreeze.com.au/Members/Help.aspx
Scroll to the bottom.

If the link doesn't work, go to the Seabreeze Menu, Click on Alerts and then scroll down to near the bottom.

Hm, maybe I am missing something....

Have looked at the Seabreeze alerts and i'm sorry but it's not comprehensive enough for the area's i wish to know about,
eg. Northern Bass Strait Foreast,
It does cater for city dwelling folk but what about those awsome spots we have all got that are in the middle of knowhere. A forecast in the morning would be handy so i know what toy to get out!

OR am i missing sumpin!!

Try looking at buoyweather.com. You can create your own virtual buoy and have the service email you a report each day. You have to subscribe to the service to get this. For instructions on how to use it, take a look around the website.

I'm not sure if it does SMS or not. Have a look and if you work it out, be sure to tell us.

It can be surprisingly accurate too. I had a forecast for down the coast from Sydney which was showing 18knots, while the rest of Sydney was showing almost nothing. When I got there, much to my surprise, there was about 18knots! Well worth the drive.

You can generate different virtual buoys for different spots and decide to drive up or down the coast if one's better than the other.
