HEY GUYS, HOW DO YOU PATCH UP AN EPOXY BOARD. IM NOT AFTER A PRO JOB AND WANT TO DO IT MYSELF BUT HAVE ZERO EXPERIENCE WITH THESE BOARDS .

Yes fibreglass
BUT not "fibreglass resin" so don't buy your stuff at hardware.
Easiest is go to Fibreglass and Resin Sales in Welshpool or Kirkside products in Osborne Pk and buy a small kit of West 105 resin and 206 hardener, half a metre of 4oz glass and some q-cell. The latter makes the resin into a putty for filling.
That would be about $40 and enough to repair small dings 5 times or more.
How's big is the hole and where? If you just want a dodgy job cos it is not in a structural area and/or on an old board, there are many cheap ways too...

I used this stuff, didn't look the best but it seems to be a strong fix.

^^ yes that is what I am getting at for minor repair in a non structural area. but not for a 10cm crack between the footstraps lol

Also you could use white araldite for China from Bunnings. I use this stuff all the time for little dings. It is not that runny , sticks like **** to a blanket ( after sanding area ) , and sets hard to sand to a beautiful finish. Only for dings and small holes. Or shark teeth holes !

My wife will tell you I'm not a handy man buy I've patched up my board a number of times (in non structural areas) and its fine so don't be afraid the have a go. I went down to a local boating shop and bought an epoxy repair kit. The fiberglass sheet is a bit course but does the job, but as Mark said use epoxy resin and hardener. My other bit of advice is to buy a cheap syringe (that goes down to 0.5ml), small bottle of acetone for cleaning and some fine wet and dry sandpaper. There is plenty on you tube and also on other threads. You will be fine.

Google "The Board Lady" (Eva Hollman). She was a board repairer, now retired, and she has a site site with a heap of info on board repair.

After you do your repair and before you go sailing, put the bung in your board and leave it in the sun for a little bit. After a minute or two pour some soapy water over the repair, if you see bubbles the repair is not water tight and your board will suck in water. If that's the case you may need a better quality repair.
