You could use sports tape to provided support so wrist can not bend backwards, but not water proof. Used to get injured ankle and knee taped up for soccer, really worked good.
And I am now using Arnica gel more, instead of taking a pain killer. Had a sore shoulder from weightlifting and swimming, rubbed it with the gel and pain went away, pain came back next day but less, so repeated treatment and now pain free in shoulder.
My chiro has strapped previous injuries so that might be the way to go.
I'm using Arnica cream alternately with Voltaren cream.
The hands improving but lack of range and muscles in the arm are causing issues. I'm seeing the physio today so hopefully we can start working on that.
