Sorry Zed, but if he was hit by a bus crossing the street that would be a tragedy.
Alone, naked, dead from a drug overdose, that's just sad.

The real tragedy is the legacy left for his 2 year old daughter. He fathers' name will now be mentioned in the same breath as Kurt Cobain, River Pheonix and that blonde seppo sheila with the big tits.

My tip, singer Amy Winehouse will be the next member of that infamous club.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions on suicide. Have they found a note?

An article I read suggested that he wasn't sleeping cos playing the role of The Joker (Batman) was screwing with his head and his sleeping pills were only keeping him asleep for an hour at a time. He might have taken a few extras to make sure he slept... and then whoopsie!

We'll have to wait and see what the investigation proves but at this stage it could have been intentional or it could have been an accident.

Anyone who has trouble sleeping at night needs to do the following. Hard physical exercise all day till you are exhausted, then drink a beer or two with a meal early evening. You will fall asleep guaranteed, even if your mind is playing tricks and you are worried sick.

Anyway its not a tragedy. Someone who plays with drugs is taking their life into their own hands. He was an adult and is responsible for his own actions. A tragedy is an Iraqi family obliterated by an American machine gun.

Heath was a good sailor. He could do spocks and good wave 360's. He used only JP's as he found them strong and light. He liked Ezzy sails, as in his own words "Dave is a good bloke, nice to his Sri Lankan workers and all, dos'nt hit em with sticks when they slacken off"

So we will all miss Heath, and his clowning about on the water.

See you Heathy.

I never liked that BrokeCrack Mountain movie anyway.

Maybe he had depression. I had depression once but I tried not to let it get me down.

Hah! always makes me laugh. Any opportunity to bag the Americans. Nevermind the fact terrorists are targeting children with explosives INTENTIONALLY and the Americans are providing billions of dollars in aid.

I shouldn't touch this with a 490 mast, I really shouldn't but here goes: [}:)]

They didn't need the billions in aid until the (arguably valid) embargo that was crushing the country was upgraded to the yanks blowing the hell out of the all the infrastructure. They have oil. And do you actually think the Iraqis get even half of that aid? It all goes to the companies that won the contracts, and they are doing a **** job of it. Read here: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/16076312/the_great_iraq_swindle

But you do have a fair point about the bombers targeting civilians.

Oh yeah, Heath is dead. I never met him. Liked his work. He should have windsurfed more. So should I.

I bet that makes the families of those who died at the hands of the American invaders sleep well at night.

Just remember some facts when you start talking about terrorism and Iraq. Firstly terrorism wasn't a problem for or caused by Iraq until the Bush administration started telling us fairly tales.

Secondly, invading and occupying a country isn't the best way to deal with so called terrorists. I know if some other country invaded Australia I would be doing my best to fight back and resist any way I could and I would consider any government put up by the invaders to be a bunch of traitors.

Edit:

Anyway back on topic, Its sad that Ledger died. I did not know he was a windsurfer which makes me consider him differently. If he was having trouble sleeping he should have taken a break from NYC and headed over to Maui for some R&R. Rest in peace.

How did we get onto Iraq and America? Started the thread with the death of an Aussie actor, went to political opinions and frankly if I want to read someone ranting about how bad we (the west) are to the poor Arabs and visa versa, I'll read a propaganda website.

Let's get back to windsurfing........

I apologise too.

Can we talk more about Heath's windsurfing? Where did he sail and what was he like on the beach? Was he really up himself? Personally I saw a couple of his movies and did not think much of them.

When a local surfer dies we generally have a wake on the water.

I hope none of his family read this site, it was not just Heath who windsurfed.

I did not know him through windsurfing it was via another sport, never trust what you read in the press, I wish his family well.
