Yes, the ferry didn't get cut by the foil.

Saw it on instagram the other day. Amazing the amount of people in sailing craft who don't know the rules of the road.

Seems pretty obvious to me..to avoid injury the bigger 'vessel ' gets right of way.
I wouldn't be arguing with that ferry..

I feel for the ferry Skipper. A lot of people are going to learn the hard way about the dangers of the wing.

To be fair , it was a tiny ferry , hard to miss .
Surrounding awareness may help in a radical sport.
Even in the heat of racing , I would think that you should see an object the size of a football field and avoid hitting it at full speed . What was he doing at the time, texting ?
And if anyone says , " I don't understand because it's hard to see where you're going on a wingding " ,then they should be banned .

I certainly can, as a commercial skipper, I've operated large fast ferries like this and it is not nice when there are muppets on clown craft in the vicinity.

If you can't see, then you shouldn't be near anyone.
My RSone board would not currently be creased if the wing-et didn't plow into me because he couldn't see.

The Skipper of the ferry will wear this most likely.
Not sure how the wing-o will fare, but the skipper and his family will probably feel this for the rest of their lives.

We all **** up when we are out there, forgetting to look, but some sports (and the sailors in them) seem more prone too it.
Some of these new watersports are too easy to learn. Building site to beach.

How's this even possible ? I know the wingers right hand was forward and he had right of way , and I know sailing craft has right of way over powered craft , but , tell me if I'm wrong , who goes on a mini blind folded extreme craft and thinks a city block will snap out of your way ?
If I smacked into the side of , let's say , Jupiter , I'll accept it as my fault .

Na that'd be Jupiter's fault, flaunting its gravity with no consideration for other space users.
