I've heard of cutting a board down, even done it myself a few times.
But is this called cutting a board UP????
Any way nice way of making it wider, should drop it's wind range by 5 - 10 kts?

I'm amazed that you can maintain a straight line with a handsaw. If I tried that it would end up turning really well one way, as for the other way... erm...

Mind you I've seen Decrepit on the tools and I imagine the end result for you would be similar... once it's painted you'd have no idea what's underneath. Wizards, the pair of you

Decrepit... yep I was hopeing to drop it's wind range by at least 5 knts.

Nebbian... cutting the board was easy, it was getting the insert foam the same width that was a challenge.

Bertie... Yep winner I tried it with a 20cm wide insert to make it 74 wide, but it looked to wrong and I couldn't do it, next time. The 10 cm insert still makes it look strange but I want to try increasing width gradually.

Pirrad... Yep we are out in the wild wild west over here, you should see my cat!

Greenroom... ha your light wind days are numbered watch out!

PC Simpson... I'm hopeing the new medication(Respiridone) will kick in soon.

Richiefish... nope won't break when I'm finished with it.

Haircut... Gee I wish he had have advertised those on seabreeze, bit late now.

.... I'll post more pics as I progress, I've still got to stick it together yet.

Stay tuned.

Think Hardy did post them on here, but it's an old formula board we cut down, may have been a bit too wide and straight for your purposes. From memory what was left was 70cm wide.

Glueing polystyrene to half the board with 30mls 2 part expanding polyurethane and packing tape.

Glueing on other half of the board after the foam had set

I wondered how you got light styrene joints I've used an epoxy bog in the past, stronger than it needs to be and a bit heavy. Expanding foam makes sure gaps are filled in and it's light.
Must get me some for next time.

i'm with you on that one decrep but this board needs a glue joint as"tringers" or strength somewhere

Not quite sure how he'll go about it, but I bet Rider5 re-establishes the D-cell integrity next step.
Won't need any stringers.

Routed out some pvc down to the glass then put some glass over the polystyrene and then vac bagged a strip of pvc over the wet glass. shaped tail and nose covered them with glass and coremat. Added a bit of bog to increase the vee a bit.
Just got to work out where to put the boxes and footstrap plugs.

The extra width is to fit the quads on, no doubt.
