Welcome to the forums... In the old days it was all about racing or waves, and now there's all the 'freestyle' stuff for doing tricks - spocks & whipper-snippers (is that right Simon? )

From what I heard 'bout the old days, they were setup for going fast in a straight line, and turned like pigs. Now the boards are much more comfortable on the water, and very forgiving in the corners, making it much more fun/easy to get planing, gybe and generally spend less time in the drink.

Probably be hard to buy a 'bad' board these days, compared to the old days when there a few dodgy numbers around. The new freestyle boards mean you can have a day of going fast, and yet still have fun in the waves when you want ... an all-rounder.

tell her it would be like using one of those old bicycle of the 1800s with the big wheel at the front...
wouldn't be very safe and wouldn't go very fast and very far.

but having said that now you don't need 3 boards....one would do...
what are your boards anyway you might find some people that would get them for
few bucks just to learn on, unless they're heavier than a menhir!!!

forget about that , this i's not windsurfing this is boat sailing!!!...

Find one of these new boards that are a bit wide yes, but a sail around 5m2 to 5.5m2 will do for the typical seabreeze.
You will always find some people full on about fins size...and all that crap , like it use to be for slalomers in the old days but apart if you want to go pro you don't need all that. The idea now is a good all around board and a good sail ( as they've got a huge wind range now)...anyway any shops will be of good advice.

maybe you can get your wife into windsurfing and she can use your old stuff and you can buy new stuff and then when your wife wants new stuff you give her your old stuff and you get new stuff cool huh

The shoes idea wouldn't work. I got more shoes then she has.

Otherwise, I tried teaching her once, but a few dolphins came around, she thought it was sharks...
I had to swim all the way to paddle her back. Never again.

Anyway, you should know that the garden and the house expenses are much more important than the expenses for fun stuff. Or, that's what you'll find out when you get married.

hmmm they are both a hand full but when my wife goes past the river or ocean and sees that the breeze is in or watches the weather she calls me at work and tells me and bless her dearly coz she lets me go sorry dude i cant swap...
but if you have a million dollars you can have her for the night
