How do kitewing sizes compare to kites and sails?

I see there is a 7.5sqm kitewing on the firebee site. A 7.5m sail is pretty large, but a 7.5m kite is pretty small...

At a guess, I stress, a guess, Kite wings are symetrical and probaly appear small, as opposed to a Sail for windsurfing.

Any idea that I actually know anything about this is a misrepresentation created in your own mind.

Thats the way I would tend to look at it, assuming Kite wings are symetrical.

If this is also incorrect pleasr refer to Disclaimer 1.0

Cheers GT

On land a 5.5m Kitewing gets you airborne in 17 knots, 25 knots and it's super fun!
On the water with the Wave Warrior (7.5m) you need 20knots up to 35 and you'll still be fine. If in trouble, simply let go....you'll never ever get dragged.
The 7.5m is large, but surprisingly easy to handle. When the wind is on it will just sit above your head (like an obedient eagle) with little effort to steady. When you want to get going all you need do is pull the back of the kite down (sheeting in) then your away, if your going too fast, sheet out a little, easy as. I kitesurf as well, the kitewing is much easier to learn. But i still loooove kitesurfing.

I have seen some footage on youtube of a guy riding in smallish waves, but nothing serious. I personally wouldn't risk riding in big waves, if a wave hits you, your wave warrior might take a pounding, the wings can take a bit, but i would imagin a 5 or 6 foot wave would eat it. I mainly ride with a 5.5m on cycleways/grassy hills. Heaps of fun when the wind is coming from the wrong direction for kitesurfing or the wind is too strong.
