I have recently arrived from Melbourne and have heard Lancelin is the play to go, is this true, what accommodation is there? I have heard that there may be chalets right by the beach. Is now a good time to go? Any help would be good.

While your here make sure you head to Coronation beach 20km north of Geraldton. Words can not explain how amazing it is there. Great for beginner to wave sailer.

There are campsites and YHA - you can do a search on the seabreeze website as there are other threads with relevant info. There are also little units

Lancelin is so much fun for windsurfers. It's almost always windy there and it doesn't matter if you're a beginner/slalom/wave sailor there's fun to be had. The windsurfing area is near the caravan park (turn left then right as you come into town) and has a large, flat lagoon which is great for screaming back and forth on. At the perimeter of the lagoon the waves start to break and you get some good side-shore break and often at 90-degrees to the wind!

It's so good to be able to fang across the lagoon, get up speed then fly up the face of a wave!

The rigging area is big and grassy, with shelter sheds, toilets/showers, bbq facilities etc.

They have equipment hire facilities there at good prices (hr, day, weekly hires available). All starboard/severne equip.

Go there.
