Boards will come off of any rack that isn't secured properly. As to vehicles, I have a beach wagon which can carry a board inside. However, often I'll want to take two or more to the beach. I've used the Riverside rack pads to feather two boards and that works fine except that as previously posted, one has to secure them so they don't slip within the straps. I won't take more than one board on the roof, either, over hiways.

I once drove for about 5 kilometres (Dolls Point to Blakehurst) with two complete kits on the roof and NOTHING tying them on. Two boards, two masts, two booms and two sails. I thought my mate had done up the straps, and he thought I had. I was about to take a sharp corner quite fast and said to him "I hope you did the straps up tight". He gave me a blank look, and instantly I knew what had happened. Can't believe nothing fell off. Crikey, we could have killed someone.
