G'day my friendly neighbourhood windsurfers,

I'd like to tell the story of how my board got away and what I've done to get it back.

While sailing out into the breakers between Lano and Edward Island, my mast decided it would bust its way through the top end of my sail. While de-rigging the sail I found myself being drawn towards a reef section which dumped a rather nice wave on top of my head, taking my board from me.

An hour later I was in a boat motoring around looking for the board, but to no avail. I'd like to thank the man who picked me up, cheers for your help.

The next day we got up before the crack of dawn and drove Super-Stu's beast up the beach from Lano to Wedge and beyond hoping to find a very nice Starboard washed up on shore. No luck, bummer. THanks Stu, your a champion mate.

The town of Lancelin are well informed of the missing board, as I've given out notices and posted signs around the area. The police have also been informed.

Once again, the board is an ACID 94 Litre Starboard, had a 'mast base' attached and a minor repair job on the bottom deck of the board, near the rail.

A very generous reward will be offered to the person who returns the board.

If found, please contact myself or Stu on the above numbers.

Any information with regards to the board will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Peter Bennett

we were in lano the arvo you lost the board. down the beach near the jetty were about 6 army zodiacs doing some training. they would of been the guys to hunt it down. - as spot1 said try lano island and the police.

Thanks everyone. The more people looking the more likely we will find it. It must wash up eventually!! and there aint many 94L Acids around!
We will get it back pete. For the record it was only the second time pete had used his brand new board.

The swim was very enjoyable. I frolicked with flipper, some seals belched a lovely melody and a Great White swam by with his family asking me to join him for lunch.

But seriously, the swim wasn't as difficult as I anticipated. Even with all my gear stuffed under my right armpit ('deodorized') I managed to doggy paddle into shore which took about 45 minutes. I came across a shallow reef half-way to shore which allowed time to recap and think about my situation. I had a good look for the board at this point, but could only see flipper. I continued to frolick.

Very funny Pecker! just dont lose your sense of humour in the waves! did you and dave swim out to lancelin island the other day! check out the southern edge? If you sweet talk that sexy little black seal that lives on the island (tickle her under the ears) she may just help you find your board.
